With these eight tracks, he has brought his art to a frightening degree of perfection, relying on nothing but trance-like repetition and dangerously vibrating waves of sound. After being invited to two Peel sessions with Scorn, the project broke up, but Harris continued, ending the abovementioned silence with "Stealth", a massive release on Ad Noiseam Records. After laying the basis to the genre called Grindcore, Harris was fascinated by the futuristic vision of Drum and Bass, which emerged screaming from the gutters of mucky sidewalks, and left Napalm Death to form Lull, a moniker for nightly Ambient as well as Scorn, an electronic project which still contained the rage and fury of his Metal days, but channeled them into thick streams of hypnotic drums and earthshakingly deep bass utterings. Until 1991, he would survive through many different line-ups and established the group as a groundbreaking outfit, which explored the outermost limits of heaviness, speed and arrangement. Emerging from the post punk scene of the mid-80s, Mick Harris joined radical Metal band Napalm Death in 1985 as a drummer. Indeed, his path has taken many surprising twists and turns over time. But when he returned with his dark slow-step project Scorn late last year, it ended a five-year hiatus, which had left many wondering whether this part of Harris' long, prolific and wondrous career had ended. It's never quiet for long in the life of Mick Harris.
